The City of Edinburgh Council’s Instrumental Music Service returns to the Usher Hall for an incredible evening of music, in celebration of Edinburgh 900,  which will showcase the inspiring standard of music making taking place within the city’s central bands, orchestras and ensembles. Over 80 instrumental music instructors are employed throughout the city, providing weekly lessons, to over 5000 pupils, in all primary and secondary schools. These concerts give our young musicians the opportunity to perform in a public concert hall, collaborating with their peers and playing to an appreciative large audience.

The concert will be packed with a wonderful variety of music from schools across Edinburgh that will include the Edinburgh Schools’ String Training Orchestra, Edinburgh Schools’ Classical Guitar Ensemble, Edinburgh Schools’ Choir, Edinburgh Schools’ Jazz Orchestra, Edinburgh Schools’ Rock Ensemble, Edinburgh Schools’ Wind Ensemble and Edinburgh Secondary Schools’ Orchestra.
